Freshmen Year Played in 28 games and 11 matches ... Posted seven kills and five total blocks in her first match as a Tar Heel 9/1/01 against Villanova ... Had 31 kills for the season ... Averaged 1.11 kills per game and .86 blocks per game for the season ... Was named Dean list and Academic All-ACC.

Personal - Katie Wright, a 6'1" Middle Hitter is from Dunwoody, GA. Katie helped the Marist School win 3 state volleyball titles. Katie was a team captain, and selected All Conference and All-State at Marist. She plays as a middle and outside Hitter with the Atlanta Juniors Volleyball Club. An excellent student as well she has been selected to the National Honor Society. Katie is the daughter of Doug and Cathy Wright.
