After finished the regular season with a 17-14 record, Carolina finished the 1995 season with a overal mark of 17-18. The Tar Heels' 7-7 mark in the Atlantic Coast Conference was good for fourth place in the regular season and the Heels advanced to the semifinals of the ACC Tournament for the first time since 1992.
UNC recieved its first post-season bid since 1989 when it earned a birth in the National Invititional Volleyball Championships in Kansas City, Missouri.
Two Tar Heels, senior outside hitter Kristin Kruse and Junior middle hitter Amber Willey, earned first-team All-ACC honors in 1995. This marked the first time since 1990 that two UNC Volleyball players were named first-team all-conference in the ACC. UNC and ACC Champion Georgia Tech were the only schools to place two players on the first-team All-ACC squad.
Kristin Kruse led Carolina with 4.11 kills per game (second in the ACC). Willey led the Tar Heels with 3.06 digs per gam (10th in the ACC) and was second on the team with 3.81 kills per game (sixth in the ACC).
Both Kruse and Willey were named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-District III team.
Freshman setter Erin Berg was a member of the ACC All-Freshman team after averaging 12.7 assists per game, the second highest assist average in Tar Heel annals and second highest in the ACC. The 1,634 assist Berg dished out during the season were the second highest single-season total in UNC history.
Freshman middle hitter Lindsay Smith led the ACC with 1.40 blocks per game, Junior Anissa Cronenberg was 10th with .94 blocks per game.
Head Coach Joe Sagula won his 300th career match with a win over William & Mary on Nov. 10, 1995.
