JANET DUCH


After three years as a player, Janet Duch takes on a new role with the Tar Heel volleyball program this season as an undergraduate assistant. Duch recieved a medical release after suffering a season ending back injury early in the 1995 season. Her primary responsibilities will include court coaching, home event mangement and promotions.

A native of New Milford, N.J. Duch played in 54 matches and 101 games in her three years as an outside hitter at UNC. She totaled 90 kills and 132 digs over that time span. She had a career high eight kills, 31 attempts and 15 digs versus Virginia during her freshman season. She played in six games over four matches during her junior year before suffering her injury.

Duch was a three-time all-league and all-section who helped lead Parmus Catholic Girls High School to three consecutive state championships.

A senior during the 1996-1997 academic year, Duch is on track to graduate with a degree in journalism.
