SARAH WARD
Sarah Ward, now in her fifth year with the UNC program, will serve as an undergraduate assistant this fall.
After three years as a Tar Heel player, Ward was force to miss her final competitive
season due to a back injury. However, the native of Fridley, Minn. remained every bit
a member of the team in 1994 as she began assisting the Carolina coaching staff. She will
continue with those duties, which include working with the middle hitters, this season.
Ward ranks among the best blockers in school history. She average 0.94 blocks per a game
through her career. She ended her career with 210 assist blocks and 78 solo blocks. In
1993 she average 1.06 blocks per game.
Ward is scheduled to gradutae in May of 1996 with a degree in recreation administration.
